CloverR Slowly Leaking News on the Updated CloverR 2.0 POS Hardware
In November 2017, CloverR finally released some of the features for the new, updated Clover 2.0R machine, and it looks to be every bit as revolutionary as its predecessor. Not only does it offer new functions out of the box that you previously needed to enable in the app store, it also comes with a variety of hardware upgrades to reduce the need for add-on components.
EMV Payment Processing
Back in 2012, EMV chip cards were still on the distant horizon, with no clear date for mandatory implementation. There were cards being issued, however, through preliminary programs. At the time of the Clover Station’sR debut, the company did not choose to include that support in the core system, but it was supported through a peripheral scanner add-on. After the EMV chip card rollout in 2016, the company made sure to include EMV chip card processing as a standard feature of the Clover 2.0R.
Improved Software
The old CloverR app store allowed for third party developers that would add new and innovative features to the system, but it also opened the door for some quality control issues that affected apps many businesses viewed as vital. To prevent this in the new generation, the company took five of the most downloaded apps and rebuilt them as fully supported, branded CloverR apps that are now standard on every model. This ensures your core business needs will be supported through software and firmware updates.
